A home for unwed mothers was acquired at 1245 Hamline Avenue in St. Paul.

The Union Gospel Mission’s Rescue Home opens at 1245 Hamline Avenue as a refuge for young women who are pregnant out of wedlock. Over the course of 13 years, thousands of babies are born into this loving, supportive environment. The Rescue Home operates until 1933, when it is placed under Ramsey County’s supervision.
